On Tuesday, April 23, 2019, Cloverlane Foundation and Veterans Mobility Projects gathered to recognize United States Army veteran Vern Carlsen, and present him with the gift of a power wheelchair. Vern was born in North Dakota in 1935. He is now 83 years young. He joined the US Army in the 82nd Airborne in 1954 and served in the Cold War in Germany in the 11th airborne. Vern injured his head in an accident after over 100 jumps as an airborne Paratrooper. Having a mobility scooter will dramatically improve Vern’s quality of life. The event was held at the Hemet Valley Medical Center in Hemet, California.
