About Cloverlane Foundation

Established in 1992

Our Mission

Cloverlane Foundation is constantly evolving with the times. We are committed to supporting disabled veterans through programs offering physical activities, enriching college programs to benefit the community and supporting programs for abandoned or injured animals.

Who We Are

Cloverlane Foundation has been providing and supporting programs to assist veterans of the United States Armed Services for over three decades. The Foundation was developed with a strong passion to assist those who are underserved and underprivileged, and to rescue and support both domestic and wild animals. Currently we are involved in programs which provide individual mentoring for veterans and adaptive sports programs. We have initiated the Nurses Project and the Fire Academy Project in cooperation with Allan Hancock College.

Board of Directors

Gerald-Chase

Gerald Chase

Chairman

Gerald Chase, a Korean War army veteran, began his successful career in professional and business ventures as a certified public accountant, then became president of a public company until retirement. Once retired, he brought his knowledge and experience as a consultant for small businesses.

Cloverlane Foundation was founded by Gerald over 35 years ago to help underprivileged children and underserved animals. Because of his humble beginnings, Gerald felt the need to give others the opportunity to improve their lives so they may reach their full potential and give back to their community. He also wanted to help vulnerable animals so he turned his ranch into a sanctuary for abandoned and injured animals where they can live for their remaining lives.

The mission of his foundation was expanded to include assisting veterans. Utilizing his business background, he determined that the most efficient way to help veterans was to gather an umbrella of quality organizations offering services that would benefit those in need while offering guidance to improve their outreach programs.

At present, Gerald has expanded his vision to helping young adults through enhancing college programs which will be advantageous for the community. Students of the Allan Hancock College Nursing Program and Fire Academy will benefit from Cloverlane’s generous support.

Pierce, Silvie

Silvie Pierce

I am currently in my fifth year as an Office Manager at a middle school in Bend, Oregon. Prior to this role, I served as an Educational Assistant in Special Education at the same school. Before relocating to Bend, I worked as an Executive Assistant for a boutique real estate company in Palo Alto, California. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Psychology from Palo Alto University.

Growing up in the Czech Republic, I have always been an avid outdoors enthusiast. I spent winters alpine and Nordic skiing, and summers hiking, bicycling and swimming. I grew up in a small town where a local triathlon team organized many triathlon and duathlon races, including the Powerman Duathlon in 1996 and 1997. While helping with the race organization, I met my husband, George, in July 1997.

Fast forward 28 years and here we are. Being a nurse and support system for George through several serious bike-car collisions and recoveries ignited my competitive spirit. I competed in my first winter duathlon (run-Nordic ski) in February 2024 in Breckenridge, Colorado, placing 2nd in my age group. This qualified me for the World Championship in the Winter Duathlon in Cogne, Italy in 2025. I raced again in Breckenridge in February 2025, placing 1st in my age group. One week later I placed 2nd in my age group at the World Championship in Cogne. It was a fantastic experience to race there and to be part of TEAM USA. We are currently training for our next race adventure.
