Gerald Chase, Founder of the Cloverlane Foundation, currently headquartered in Buellton was a Keynote Speaker at the annual Santa Maria Elks #1538 Memorial Day Ceremony. The event took place at the Elks Unocal Event Center in Santa Maria on Monday, May 27th. The ceremony started with Chuck Biely, the Elks Exalted Ruler welcoming everyone. An inspirational invocation was given followed by the raising of the U.S. Flag, the California Flag, and the Elks Flag.
The crowd, which included the lodges officers, sang “The Star-Spangled Banner.” Gerald Chase spoke of his experiences in the Korean War and how war affected him and our military men and women, and their families. He praised those who fought and were able to come home, and honored the many who never came home. Please thank our veterans and our brothers and sisters in the military for their service.
