Ronnie Imel, founder of the Veterans Paying It Forward in Mountain Center, CA and the Anza Veterans Group gave out hundreds of pairs of new athletic shoes to students in November 2023. Don and Andrea Alexander, Life Members of this wonderful organization, helped give out 50 pairs of shoes to students, some of them special needs at Ash Creek Elementary, a small school in Sunizana, AZ. Don and Andrea who lived in Anza now reside in AZ. They are also active
members of VFW, American Legion and Auxiliary, ALR Riders and they support DAV and the CVMA Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association.
A Letter of Appreciation and a Certificate were given to them by Ronnie and Sally Imel. The letter thanked them for the extra time and energy they spent to help these children and the Imel’s were grateful for the couple’s life’s work to help others. The shoes were donated by the Cloverlane Foundation in Santa Ynez, CA. Ronnie, is on the Board of Governors of Cloverlane.
Each year one school will be selected for outstanding examples of incorporating the “Golden Rule” concept into the life of the school. This school will have
upheld high academic standards that implement the Golden Rule with
empathy, respect, civility and kindness.
